the absurd tic tac toe
This project is about unlearning, accepting, and finding a way to move forward. After the written manifesto, the game of the absurd tic tac toe was created. Unlike the original game, the participants were given a template with a completely random grid, and some of the x’s and o’s already placed in the template. No rules were given, since no rules for this game exist. The participant was challenged to either try to implement the already existing rules of the tic tac toe, or make their own.
The results of the game were a spectacular collection of absurd solutions the participants found amongst each other. Endless possibilities, lots of laughter, confusion, frustration, but most importantly, a visualization of how ruling your own game looks like.
You can only be a winner, unless you want to be a loser.
The game was presented in a game arcade, open to the public.
