no solace

ANASTASIA BOURA, GREECE. MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST, RESEARCHER, CONCEPT DEVELOPER, CURATOR.

I’m Anastasia, a creative from Greece living in Rotterdam for the past two years. I moved here to escape the suffocating circumstances I had to deal with as a female creative in my home country, and pursue my studies, as a transformation design student at WDKA. In my time here I had a chance to grow, and come closer to my biggest inspiration which is nightlife, being honoured to have worked with people significant to it in the city of Rotterdam.

From living organisms, sound, machines and urban landscapes, my main focus are the things that make us human. Our mentallity, our illusions, our being with ourselves and others. My work is about the confrontation of the individual and is heavy with symbolism.

No solace, is my drive. Having dealt with mental issues my whole life, having no solace is something that kept me going and I want to share with the world as a tool. We’ve had enough of having to wait for hope to come. I aim to show people the power of transformation, acceptance and the raw experience of living.

No more pushing things under the rag. The only way out is in.
